It's a collection of ten playful instrumental pieces. They generate a very pleasant and inspiring vibe. As if the world and the things you need to do become lighter and easygoing, Each time I listen I'm really enjoying myself.
Favorite track: Porous.
This album was made during the fall and winter of 2020. Some parts are old recordings that found new meanings. The project started off with a clear idea, and turned into something completely different.
The title Threads refers to a fascination I’ve had lately in thinking about compositions as a process of sewing. A lot of the stuff I do is based around sending short sequences/ basic melodies through loopers (Cheat Codes and Cranes) to form variants of the source sound. These threads are often run through a layer of dust (noise/filter) and laced together in mixed patterns.
The cover is based on a drawing made by my 4 year old daughter.
Tracks were made with Monome Norns+grid running Cheat Codes, Cranes and Orca, Anaphora, Lil pup and Prosody in Live 10, a Marantz pmd221 tape recorder, Op-1 and guitars.
All proceeds from this album will go to Mental Helse Ungdom and their work to for a better mental health service for kids and youth in Norway
